This is a web page I have been wanting to do for a long time.
Ken is a personal friend of mine and has been for many years. A wordsmith of the best kind. I would describe him as a modern day Banjo Patterson, Henry Lawson and all the other greats rolled into one. The praise too high? No, this man is a story teller. No agendas, no political motivation, no political correctness, just good old fashioned stories you would want your kids (and yourself) to read.
Ken and I first crossed paths on Facebook. Every so often you do strike up a real friendship with people. Ken was one of the quite a few in this category. The first thing I noticed was Ken had a way with words – turning the ordinary statement into a work of art and well worth reading. Something you take more notice of. Words become poetry and take take on a new meaning rarely seen. Thats why my comparison to the Other Australian greats. Ken is contemporary modern day in his writings complete with the old world grace and charm. Oh if only my skills were sufficient to speak of him in the same style he writes.
The tales of Swaggy Joe is written in very much the Norman Lindsay (The Magic Pudding) style. If you liked our poet Laureate CJ Dennis (The Songs of a Sentimental Bloke) you will love Kens poetic works.
