Liberal Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s Gender Equality Campaign – this is from Andrew Bolt – not Novamagic but, he has nailed it. A pathetic piss poor performing Government in total shambles. For Christ sakes, select on ability, no wonder we are screwed.
From Andrew Bolt this morning: –
Remember the media cheering Turnbull for being more pro-woman than that dinosaur Tony Abbott?
So how has feminising the Government helped Turnbull?
Michaelia Cash, who has been almost invisible as Employment Minister, now faces the sack for five times telling a falsehood to a Senate committee – that none of her staff tipped off journalists to police raids on Bill Shorten’s old union.
Marise Payne has also been almost invisible in the massive Defence portfolio, apart from defending the spending of $1 million on sex reassignment treatment for defence staff. She also put her name to the decision to spend $50 billion on French-built submarines – paying too much for too little from builders already warning they might not deliver what was promised.
Kelly O’Dwyer designed a superannuation policy that had to be reworked and has still infuriated the Liberal base. She is widely seen as the weakest link in the government’s finance team.
Sussan Ley was forced to resign over her expenses.
Julie Bishop is under fire over being the Minister for Racing, Polo, Grand Finals, Film Premieres and Good Times.
Cabinet now also includes deputy Nationals leader Fiona Nash, also near invisible and facing a High Court decision tomorrow which may rule her election to Parliament invalide because of her then dual nationality.
Perhaps we should return to judging Cabinet Ministers on their talent rather than their gender. Affirmative action has not worked for Malcolm Turnbull, and Tony Abbott may have been a better judge of performance.
